Solar energy is also classified as Renewable Energy. It is a form of energy that is environmentally friendly and is obviously inexhaustible.
Solar energy is collected by solar panels which eventually heat the water, thus converting solar energy into heat. Solar panels are used not only in central power plants but also in households to meet their daily needs for hot water and heating assistance.
Solar panels in combination with a water storage tank form the well-known solar water heater.
There are two types of solar water heater to meet our daily needs for hot water:
The open circuit water heaters, with direct heating of the hot water to be used and the closed type water heaters, with indirect water heating. The main difference is that open circuit solar water heaters, although cheaper, are not operational at low temperatures due to the fact that antifreeze fluids cannot be added to them.
In addition to these two types, there are also two categories:
Dual Energy Water Heaters, which use either the sun or electricity as the source of energy and
Triple Energy Water Heaters, which in addition to the same sources also take advantage of the hot water produced by the radiator’s boiler as an extra heating medium.
